though eminem is my favorite, no doubt the ones that have done the most for rap are dr dre and tupac.. well others too but them mostly
tupac for the whole crazy legend thing and mysterious death and 34mil+ sopies sold, dr dre cuz hes been in the game since like 92 and has done so much shit for so many other rappers

for me the best rapper is without doubt 2pac (but thats only my opinion). Other rappers that are in this category of best ever would for me be: Nas (because of the deep meaning of many of his tracks), Notorious BIG, snoop dogg (more so with his earlier albums e.g. doggystyle, dogfather, las meal, no limit - i prefed them much more than latest albums), (wu tang as a group- the track Never Again is a good example of what I like them 4) I also fink DMX or Em are among the best ever
