The whole concept of understanding a person is not seing a picture and responding to messages. Everything has its limits.

The fact is, the disadvantages is something a person doesnt reveal on the internet, its too easy a chance to actually say wat u want, in some cases maybe even leading urself to delusion.

They don't have to reveal EVERYTHING about themselves, everyone has some stuff that they just don't feel like talking to people about (mostly personal things) and it's their choice if they wanna tell anyone, whether it be on the net, or in real life. And yes, I know people can easily hide things on the net, but alot of people do it in real life too. I've had friends who have never said such things to me until just now, and before I would never know. So it's not just the net...

I think you got my point but not the way i portray it. IM not saying there arent honest people on the net. But honestly speaking if someone seeks a friend through the internet logically he prolly has real life disadvantages. Comparing real life persona and internet profile is a bit different, i for one believe in common sense, common sense would tell me much more about a person in real life than on the net, infact i usually see people in a worse perspective on the net.

I know what you mean, and in my opinion, people who lie and make up shit on the net are either just attention whores, or have nothing better to do instead of playing the game "lets make someone believe my story about how bad my life is". I'm not saying people here are lying about this shit (cos I know not EVERYONE lies on the net), but it's a proven fact that SOME people make this type of shit up, probably mostly just to get attention. To me that's wrong, and I see no point in that. People who do lie must have no life...
