naw u can still do it dude....just do it via ya desktop...if u got xp they change auto...well mine do

i think i know why....try this

open up My Documents
click tools on the very top
then click folder options
a lil window should pop up
click the view tab
then look for something that says "hide extensions for known file types"
make sure it's unchecked then click ok

all u do is get the file on your desktop...say the name is...thy.html
just right click and type its name to say thy.flv

it auto changes
