Fuzzy sound quality on iTunes?

When I play a track on iTunes, the quality is incredibly bad. Like, not even listenable. I know others who have had this problem too.

I've read a few things to do, online, but nothing has helped.

No, sound works fine on EVERYTHING else on my computer. I googled it and loads of people have had similar problems.

I don't use iTunes...I use Winamp...been using it forever
