I think there were more 'skippables' on his older albums than on this one..

but the fact is, Recovery is Em toned down. Almost every song is great sure, but I can't help but KNOW he can do so much better with his words. Not a classic, but an amazing album.

IMO not even close to a classic. SSLP was a classic. MMLP and TES maybe...
Actually imo the only classics ever are
Eminem-SSLP
Nas-It was Written
Jedi Mind Tricks- Servents in Heaven, Kings in Hell
Diabolic- Liar & A Thief

I think MMLP and TES are both undeniable classics. With TES being his best. MMLP shatters SSLP, it's like SSLP on steroids and TES is just another level.

I cant call an album that hasn't even been released yet a classic, will I ever call Recovery a classic?
I dont think so, but its definitely a great album
Same sword they knight you they gon' good night you with
Sh.., Thats' only half if they like you
That ain't even the half what they might do
Don't believe me, ask Michael
See Martin, see Malcolm
You see Biggie, see Pac, see success and its outcome
See Jesus, see Judas; see Caesar, see Brutus
See success is like suicide

What difference does it make that it hasn't been officially released to the World lmao. That shouldn't affect your opinion, you've heard the album haven't you.

Anyway, I think it is a classic. When an album is top to bottom amazing with no skippables and is THIS self-assured and defined, I really don't see how it's not.

Thats true, what I meant to say was I'm going to see how it holds up over the next few months/years because I have a habit of getting caught up in the hype: When Raekwon dropped O.B.4.C.L part 2 last year I loved it at first, now I only play a couple of tracks off it , same story with a lot of albums I loved on first listen

That being said, in a years time if I like Recovery as much as I do now, I might call it a classic

i voted for Classic because the album got better with more listens. I can only imagine how i'll love it next year. So yeah, it's a classic to me along wit MMLP and TES, and i've decided not to choose a fav of these three. Why do that when you can listen to all of them? ;)

MMLP is probably better then SSLP but theres something about SSLP that I love. I have this like connection to it. It's hard to explain but that will always be my favorite album.

I agree completely. SSLP has always been, imo, the best Em album out there. It's got at least 2 of my top 5 Em songs, and at least 4 of my top 10. It's got 2 perfectly executed collab tracks. Idk.. I've never understood why most people prefer the other 2.

To me, MMLP is a legendary album for it's accomplishments, but I wouldn't call it classic. There's only like 4-5 tracks on there I really like.. The same goes for TES, minus the accomplishments. I mean, there's other good tracks on both, but just nothing that wows me.

Recovery actually has a lot more songs that I like than any album he's made, but only 1 or 2 really have that 'holy shit' effect on me.
