A dirty man with a cigarette
On the corner looking for home
He asked me for a light
I said I can't find my own
The same man asked me for change
I stuck my hands deep in my pockets
And told him change is gonna come
But never reached for my wallet
And before my bus came
He said at least give me the time
And I said I just did
And kept my watch to my side
A dirty man with a cigarette
He kept his eyes to the ground
I gave to him my winter coat
And took the bus out of time
