Insane

Postby Hiphopdane » Aug 30th, '10, 18:43

One of my favourites from Relapse. The 'simplistic' rhyming makes it all easy to memorize and rap along to which is great as it is a quite not-so-radio-friendly song (to say the least).

The chorus isn't bad either; "Is he nuts, no he is insaaaaane". It makes me laugh a bit for some reason.

I was going to quote lines that I particulary like but realized it all was immense story telling. Some people dismiss Relape because of its so called "forced shock value". I don't care WHY he made the track, all I care about is the end product.

Also.... pretty funny that some reviewers think this is a true story! The story is as real as Criminal or Stan.

Although it is one of my least favourite productions by Dr. Dre on the album I still find it pretty good since the lyrics and beat go so perfectly hand in hand. It also reminds me of the movie Psycho!

The beat is pretty much a copy of Stat Quo's "Get Low",also produced by Dre.
But for a long time it was my favorite Relapse song, and still is top 3. :y:

Stat ruined that beat, I'm still mad over that lmao.

Bishop should've had it. Or Xzibit.

I really liked it at first, but I think now that it was pretty stupid. Rhyming was decent tho, and the beat.. there's something about the beat that makes it fresh.
Overall, I don't really like the song and don't listen to it anymore :shakehead:

He went well with the concept, second verse is funny, and third verse is pretty hilarious, love the effect on the word "melting".

idk this song would be mediocre at best, but being on relapse, it's near the top :y:

I wonder if people even gave Relapse a chance. Sometimes you need to listen several times to really get into some music.

There's even a member on here who has said in the past that he has only listened to it once. Yet he criticizes the album whenever possible.

I agree with you on most of that. But I can also understand the ppl who feel different. I personally think Relapse has some great tracks and some genuine lyricism, but for me it really isnt more than an average album. I've listened to it several times, some songs grew on me, others didn't.
But you must not forget, the first impression of the song will always count too, and I can't remember that there was one track that I didn't instantly love when I first listened to The Marshall Mathers.
