It's weird because the general consensus amongst people is, Eminem isn't as popular as he was "back in the day" (which I do agree with) but he is still doing and ahcieving stuff he has never done before, so in a way, he is.

I mean 'NOT AFRAID' was the first time one of his songs ever debuted at #1 on Billboard, and only 15 other songs have done that in history.

Also this 10 nominations is by far the most he has ever had in one year. All-time joint second



Michael Jackson has won 13 Grammy Awards, Eminem has won 11. So he could surpass MJ this year.

Anyway, congrats to Em for the nominations. The Grammys are such an illogical clusterfuck though. OTOH, they want to award "excellence" (whatever that means) and nominate low-selling critical darlings Arcade Fire and then OTOH they want the teenybopper demographic as well and give nods to Bieber, Katy Perry etc.

Perry getting a "Best Album" slot makes no sense even by their twisted "logic" though. That thing was panned critically and didn't sell all that well. Yeah, she had hits, but they could have just nominated the songs. Arcade Fire had excellent reviews; Gaga, Lady A and Eminem had decent reviews and massive sells. Katy Perry had...whipped cream squirting out of her boobs. What?
