as a group hands down, elvis is by far the most iconic individual, over 88,000 people claim their profession as elvis impersonaters each year in the US alone lol, dude sold over a billion records, only other "artist" to do that's the beatles, but they're obviously a group.

no artist or group will ever sell a billion records. :8) Links like to over-estimate because they cant estimate. Just like with Eminem we'll never know how many singles+albums his sold worldwide. The Beatles & Elvis will have sold around 300m albums and 300m singles each so around 600m records. (Still the top 2 acts ever by far) But i do fully agree Elvis is a legend, i enjoy so much of his music and The Beatles have so many classic albums and have done so much for this industry. Must be just the MTV generation on this list.

I like this one but i would say The Rolling Stones & Pink Flyod are far ahead of Jay-Z & Aerosmith in Iconic status. :8)

But, their songs suck ass. I would rather bump Lil Wayne, and that's no joke.

That should be a joke! I haven't even heard that many songs from the Beatles, but that statement is just :facepalm

Lil Wayne has good songs. The Beatles don't. Therefore Lil Wayne > Beatles imo.

"But, they had the biggest impact EVERZZZZZZ!!!111" I don't give a fuck. They're music is not something I enjoy.

MTV has only been around since the 1980's, so how can a band from the 60's and 70's be an Icon for THEM????.............. I'm pretty sure there just counting the biggest and most popular Icons on therechannel
