Best song on relapse no doubt

Cause the shit I hear is crazy
But your either getting lazy or you don't believe in you no more
Seems like your own opinions, not one you can form
Cant make a decision you keep questioning yourself
Second guessing and its almost like your begging for my help

I agree, to some extent. But, that's like saying "He knows Rock Bottom, Stan, Sing For The Moment was dope. He heard the positive feedback, so why doesn't he continue making songs like those?" It just doesn't work that way. Especially with Em, who (for those who haven't noticed) has switched up his styles in EVERY album.
"This dude doing this interview wants me to spin a few,
Lyrics while I tie my tennis shoes in the nude
A romantic interlude in a livin’ room,
In an inner tube with a dude with a bit of lube
Fuck that I’m sniffin’ glue, sippin' gin & juice,
And a little bit of paint thinner with my dinner too,
You better pay me for my bars like your rent is due,
Now hurry up and finish dude before I finish you."

He doesn't put out material he doesn't think is dope, or good, or the best it can be. He only later decides that, and is shown in his recent degrading of both relapse and encore. While he may think won't back down is dope now, or was when he put it out, it doesn't mean he won't look back one day and say it was shit.

I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that he writes to the beat, so what the beat brings out it brings out. Honestly, I'd rather a song be good that's natural than a good song that he forced himself to write, tho I understand this doesn't justify a reason for him not to have used the same flow you're talking about it may be a reason nonethless :y:

IDK about best, but it's damn good. It's just not THAT catchy or a banger

So because it's not catchy or is a club hit, it's not good? And bullshit, because Deja Vu is very catchy. I get that chorus stuck in my head all the time.

Yeah, it's really frustrating. I'll take a guess:

Perhaps what happened with Deja Vu and other songs where he has sharp flow and lyricism is he got into a "zone" with something he had a lot to say about...because he'd never really discussed that subject matter before and had all kinds of pent up explanations and narration in him. He'd write a couple good bars that sparked a train of thought for more bars, which continued until he had most of the song written and only needed to piece together the finishing touches.

Then there are other songs where he just didn't have as much to say, despite his desire to say SOMETHING. He'd come up with a creative concept but then the actual lyrics weren't really flowing...hence the "forced" nature of them. Here you get the trademark sentences split between bars and forced, inconsistent rhyming.

Still, I find it hard to believe he even wrote to the beat on Talkin' 2 Myself. That song just sounds like he forced what he was saying to go on there. Either that or the flow he was attempting on there was just too difficult for him to maintain in the writing.

I think going through changes would be better use here. I mean WBD and GTC are on the same fucking album. And i think GTC is the best song since his comeback, he's completely brainwashed if he thinks they're of the same calibur or close.

If you move this thread to shady reviews, what is there to be in the main section? This is not a review of the song.
