Living Proof

Postby dchen93 » Dec 16th, '10, 02:29

I've grown to like it more and more. Royce's rhymes and flow are great, the beat is simple but fresh, and Em actually has some great rhymes. I was annoyed at first that he's got the shouty delivery, but I've gotten used to it and started paying attention to how good the rhymes are.

Starting at this point, it's the same rhyme scheme until the end of the song - pretty impressive:
[Royce]
I’ma get rich or I’mma die trying
thats why its either kill or be killed
so call me suicide homocide Ryan

[Eminem]
Theres a bomb inside my head
I’ma live wire, I am on the edge
teetering on it like I tore the iron mike
get on a nut like a tyre iron
I have no desire stopping, so why would I drop and roll,
that’s how much on fire I am
rappers are fun and I’m the time cause I’m just flying by ‘em
man I’m laughing at ‘em the entire time, why am I up?
cause tribulations I have triumphed bitch I’m fired up
so it’s time for me to slit your f-cking lighter, light the sky up

Plus, lots of other "internal rhymes" in there involving the "i" sound that I didn't bold.

I love how Em says "light the sky up".

Em > Royce on this one. But, Royce owned Em BAD on Echo.

I actually thought it was flipped personally. Then again, I only listened to those songs like two or three times lol.

Eminem did pretty good, he needed to chill out a bit and it wouldn't been great :y:

What the hell, what makes you think that? Lol, Royce has the better verses and flow
I think he and Em were equal on Echo, none better than the other. Just two enjoyable artists making a track. But that's just me....

And Em rhymes Royce's "homicide" with "bomb inside."

I liked Royce's first verse. Pretty much the only thing I liked about the song.

Ah, true, thanks for pointing that out. Lol you point out complexities that I didn't notice, yet you don't like the song?

I love this song. Thought Em outdid Royce in both songs. I am starting to like Royce more and more but his delivery bores me. I don't know, he'll grow on me.

Not a fan of Eminem's voice. Painful on the ears.

And I think his flow is all over the place. I don't like the way he swears excessively and forces awkward rhymes like "bitch ass pussy"/"catastrophe." I do like the flow and some of the rhyming in Eminem's second verse.

Royce's first verse is good. I also like the beat.

Overall a forgettable song.

As for Echo... Royce's verse is pretty sweet. It was a return to his old form.

But Eminem fails to deliver IMO.

Lol I actually liked that "bitch ass pussy/catastrophe rhyme". Meh, to each his own.

Royce does kill it on both songs though, and I think Em does too on Echo. The more I listen to Echo, the more amazing it is to me...I just think Em's vocals need to be mixed so they don't sound to unclear. His delivery is great on Echo (it's admittedly kind of annoying on Living Proof), and his flow and rhymes are really on par with some of his best work.

Bores You? That's a first, imo his delivery and flow is one of his strong points.

Beat alone is enough to let Mr. Porter produce the majority of Em's next album. The rock sound reminds me of Lose Yourself which is a pretty good thing.

The verses are quite good too. I wish they'd release a version with more smooth Eminem delivery.

Actually, the hoarse-line is nice!

Lmao for real. Royce has the best delivery I've heard, the most aggressive and vicious too.
