On Fire

I really think On Fire is underrated and is slept on by most people on this forum.

The song is excellent. His flow is great and his lyrics are fantastic. I love the beat. I've seen see someone go as far and say this song is just a filler on Recovery. :o

Both of the verses are fantastic lyrically, but I've just highlighted some multis in the first verse.

Yesterday my dog died, I hog tied a ho, tied her in a bow
So the next time you blog try to spit a flow
You want to criticize, dog? Try a little more
I'm so tired of this I could blow, fire in the hole
I'm fired up so fire up the lighter and the dro
Better hold on a little tighter here I go
Flows tighter, hot headed as Ghostrider
Cold hearted as Spiderman throwing a spider in the snow
So you better get lower than Flo-rida
Inside of a lowrider with no tires in the hole
Why am I like this? Why is winter cold?
Why is it when I talk I'm so biased to the hoes
Listen dog, Christmas is off, this is as soft as it gets
This isn't golf this is a blistering assault
Those are your wounds this is the salt, so get lost
Shit dissing me is just like pissing off the Wizard of Oz
Wrap a lizard in gauze beat you in the jaws with it
Grab the scissors and saws and cut out your livers gizzards and balls
Throw you in the middle of the ocean in the blizzard with Jaws
So sip piss like sizzurp through a straw
Then describe how it tasted like dessert to us all
Got the gall to make Chris piss in his drawers
Tickle him, go to his grave, skip him and visit his dog

I might have missed a few, but it's only a rough run through.

I personally really like this song.

Thoughts?

I was about to write this same topic. Yeah, On Fire is an underrated classic. All the people "complaining" about how they miss the old Slim Shady and yadda yadda yadda should shut the fuck up and listen to this. It's classic Shady on steroids with the lyrical prowess of current Em.

Really a great song. Full of memorable lines, funny ones and the flow and beat are orgasmic.

This track isn't even in my top 5 on Recovery, but it's a good track didn't like it at first but it grew on me same for Won't Back Down.

Its my favorite hook from this album. I wish he hadn't used so many samples for hooks on a Recovery (I NEED TO BITCH MORE)

Now I lay me down to sleep
I do this shit in my sleep, I’m sleepin' now, imagine if I awake

I love this song, one of his best lyrical tracks on the album definitely :y:

I think the mixtape feel it has tho because its short, sort of a "diss" track minus name dropping, and like he said to start the second verse he did a bullshit hook (tho i liked it).

The only problem I have with this song, which isn't even a problem in reality, but the fact it has such a mixtape feel to me, is part of the reason I think people dislike the production on this album. I always looked at this album as sort of a 'pressed mixtaped' because of the fact it doesnt really have any overriding concept or fluency, and this track is what really stands out and gave me that opinion right when it came out.

Still love it tho :worship:
