Wayne Rooney won Premier League Player Of The Year a few years back but didn't win Young Player Of The Year.

Doesn't make sense. Awards are a farce. Always have been, always will be.

And the Mu'Fukaz that won Album of the year.. Never heard of them.. How much did it cost for that? Smh

LOL Royce mad

What a dick. He's never ever heard their music so how the hell can he say they didn't deserve it?

He's as bad as the Stans on here.

Personally, I thought The Roots' album was far better than Recovery but I'm not crying about it because they didn't win Best Rap Album - as long as I like it, why should I give a shit they didn't get a little trophy?

If you think Recovery is album of the year, then that's fine. Doesn't mean every person has to. What does an award prove?! Whether Em wins it or not, you still think it's good, so why does it matter what some random judges think?

Awards mean shit all. Anyone getting upset about them is stupid.

Arcade Fire won Best Album Of The Year but did NOT win Best Alternative Music Album Of The Year. That's just retarded.

That's the 'everybody wins' mentality. Since they won the Best Album, they ' don't need' to win in their genre and some other band can get an award too.

I was using the Rooney thing as an example of how it always happens. It's nothing new.

If Rooney is the best overall player, then surely he's the best young player? Just like if Arcade Fire's album is the best overall album, then surely it's the best in it's genre.

Yeah, I know. But it sounded like you used the Rooney example as an excuse for the Grammys.

Some of you guys are idiots for real. Just because YOU haven't heard it doesn't mean they don't deserve it or that nobody else has heard it. Just because YOU have an underdeveloped taste in music doesn't mean something is biased or bullshit.

fuck yeah ARCADE FIRE.

that must be why, honestly, i cant think of any other plausible reason this happens.

and this never makes sense even in terms of nominations in relation to the actual award show. what i mean is, if two nominees for album of the year are in the same genre, one won't win best (pop/country/rap/rock/etc) album, so they then should by default have no chance at album of the year since another competitor in the category was already awarded a grammy saying they had a better album.

and that goes for all award shows.

didnt know till I read an above post arcade fire didnt win best alternative album or whatever, so with my ^ logic there, how the fuck do they win AOTY :facepalm

I dont get this quote at all...

Despite going home without the big prize, Hiatt suggested that Eminem focus on what his loss might actually represent, which is a sort of coronation of his comeback. The rapper was nominated, an obvious nod of respect, but perhaps his being shunned was recognition in and of itself.

"In a way, Eminem should treasure the fact that he didn't win, which means he's still dangerous," Hiatt said.

Maybe Em will use that line again
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know, the Grammy Awards are based on votes by members of the entertainment industry. And my guess is that the proportion rap-related "members", is certainly a minority. Also, most of these "members" are often past their prime/"have-beens". And rap artists are definitely not profiting from this fact. How many rap-albums have won a "album of the year" grammy?

Would like Em to recognize the Grammy dismissing of the genré rap on his next album. Let's create some controversy, Em!

He's saying he should feel awesome because the Grammys are still too scared to give him the award.

It's basically suggesting that he's truly returned in the sense that they hated him back then, and they still hate him now.
