Eminem Grief As Best Friend Shot

The Mirror wrote:RAP star Eminem was grief-stricken after one of his closest friends was shot dead yesterday.

Rapper Proof, best man at his wedding in January, was blasted in the head in a nightclub row.

Eminem, 33, was later seen leaving his own home in tears.

Proof - Deshaun Holton, 32 - was murdered in a club on Detroit's Eight Mile Road, made famous in Eminem's 2002 movie 8 Mile.

Another man, 35, was shot in the head and was last night critical.

Eminem knew the rapper before becoming a star. It was his friend's idea to form the band D12.

Proof often appeared with him at gigs and also starred in 8 Mile.

Proof's label Interscope Records said: "His friends and family would appreciate privacy during this difficult time."

Last New Year's Eve another of Eminem's hip-hop friends, Obie Trice, was shot and wounded while driving in Detroit.

This must be tough for everyone involved with d12, in anyway, but since Em knew proof for so long it must be real tough for him, I hope he has someone he can talk to during this time. :'(

Em's under enough pressure right now so this must of almost killed him, i cant even imagine what hes feeling. my respects goes to the family of Proof. Why has this shizzle gotta happen man..

the more i read about proof's death, the more i feel like shit..

i cant even imagine what em's reaction woulda been when he heard the news... like he didnt have to go thru this when ronnie died.. so sad :'(

Yeh, if you read the booklet for 'D12 World' and read the 'Thanks' page, Proof does mention that he has a wife and 3 children (2 boys and a girl)

Em must feel awful. The divorce, Obie being shot, Proof and the drugs allegations. I only hope that these do not have an effect on him like it can do to others

aww poor em..I'm so sorry..I'm sooo sad,imagine em n proof's family n friends..man..I'm very close to all of them..em I think of you a lot!!

man...Eminem is pretty tough and to hear that he was crying makes me think how close he was to Proof. they were probably way closer than what we could imagine. my prayers are with the family and friends of Proof...RIP Deshaun Holton(1975-2006) :'(
