I need your help on punchlines oh wise, classthe_king.

Well the biggest thing with punchlines are that you want it to have a double meaning. Don't just thow in a bunch of words that are similar in one meaning but have no correlation on the other meaning. That's what Eminem does a lot and that's why his punchlines are If you can practice enough where you get to the point where you can use two words with two double meanings and they both work together both ways then you have a dope punchline. Here's an example

I haven't had a cavity yet, so there's no steel-in-my-crown

You can look at it as, there's no steel in his crown because he hasn't had a cavity or there's no stealing his crown. Execution is also important with punchlines. The best way to learn that is just to listen to punchline rappers. I've listened to Copywrite a lot so I tend to set up punches in a battle way, similar to him, but there are many different ways. The key is not giving it away or make it obvious. Using similies are okay when seting up punches but most people prefer metaphors. Here's another example,

Those fake thugs actin like small pacs are just a disease.

It uses the punch with one smooth sentence. It's not about the pun, it's about the way you use the pun. Just be creative with it.

Another easy way to come up with punchlines is just look in the newspaper for current events. Those would be punches similar to Chino XL or Slaughterhouse.

Well I'm no expert, but I can give you some stuff to start with. I just need to know a) what program you use to record, and b) what's your set up.

If you're talking about what I think you are then that's easy. All you need to do is throw in an internal multi. Use this pattern

If you want to get basic rhyme schemes that's the easiest way to do it. Here's an example I just took from one of my verses

With the kind of story ya couldn’t even imagine
Dedicated, nowadays if I’m breathin, I’m rappin
My legion of dragons rule with power and might
To devour the mic while all foes cower in fright

The transistion rhyme helps it to flow smoothly from one scheme to the next. Now it's kind of tricky for some to put two rhymes in one line and still make it fit in the bar but if you're creative with it and are constantly rapping it outloud to the beat, then you should make it flow fine.

If you want to record, then you definitely need a microphone with at least normal/good quality. It doesn't have to be expensive, there are mics out there that has an okay quality and are cheap, which works for beginners.

As long as you know how to properly mix and you record in an area with as little as possible reverb you'll be fine. I've had the same USB mic for 2 years now my quality has improved from simply horrible to pretty decent because I fixed the first two things on that list. PM me once you get your shit in gear and I'll show you a 2 minute way to get acceptable quality out of mixing.

I know, but he said he records with a cellphone. At least, that doesn't make it easy or enjoyable to listen to.
But you are right, mixing helps a lot.
