Block:
You...
heard a lot about you but I wouldn't know what I believe,
I perceive your willingness to let us die, the highest greed..
fill me in.. are we puppets? are you loveless? are we toys to you?
are we something coveted, or covered up & done with it?
'The Voice Of Truth', it used to be the name that you were called by
Entangled in the thrall, I won't live if I believe in this..
a way to save us all? I don't even get if we exist
and it's.. Jesus this and Jesus that... (he's sham)
I never read your scripture but I picked apart a piece of it,
and we believe a piece of him could heal me if I'm feverish??
you leave me with a lot of doubt & clouded negativity..
surrounded by a distant dream that this could be uplifting me,
admittedly, if you would show your face it woulda calmed my fears
I'm.. talking to a wall in here, not in gest, a show of faith..
I know that grace is overrated.. You call me and it's all I hear..
if you really did create us then, why are we all left to suffer?
we, tend to cover latest trends, a faithless sect that's next to nothing
yet you're bluffing that humanity was ever worth your time, & we
will ask if freedom's hard to find, like starting blind in hide & seek
Hide the seas... part the tides.. Your miracles are dead to us
unless we trust in you again... & You're the gift we're meant to love?
set that stuff ablaze, you vindictive little fuck...
amen.

Fa-Q
You say you know every strand of my hair in locks,
On my head, but I feel I’m under the glare of hawks,
Sometimes I feel like I’m Biggie, under Tupac’s stair,
Wherever I go, I’ll wonder if God or Satan walks there,
My speakin’ tongue, when speaking to you, talks scared,
And has your keep cleared, or are the sheep sheared,
I’ve tried numbering the stars, today the countin’ stops,
You said you’d be there, when counted on mountain tops,
I’ll ask You a question, is an OH-men the same as Amen,
And please explain the rules to this game you’re playin,
What happens to non-believers, are they thrown in hell,
Are you pokin’ fun with the angels with me, at show an’ tell,
So throw me in the lake of fire, it seems like you know it well,
I feel like I’m on Led Zepplin’s path, I know I’ll make it higher,
And what about my grandpa, will he just rot in the graveyard,
Even though his soft hands were worn, when he slaved hard,
Where were You when she broke me, did you make the arrow,
And you expect to follow the path of the straight and narrow,
She broke my heart, and it hardened, it ached like Pharaoh,
I pray you don’t take my first born, that was the worst morn,
Make me wander the desert, until my tongue has it thirst worn,
On this mountain is where the prayer ends, I’ll scream til air thins,

i assume this is blocks verse.
a well put verse judging by the way it flowed when i read this, i could say it's written with the intention of recording i mean the no of words in each lines ok that that's coming to the real feed see the part in italics those are lines i did not like at all :coffee: i mean seemed too contrasting as compared to the rest of the piece .
had lot of lines that i liked but the if i had to pick one from the bunch then i would go with this
Hide the seas... part the tides.. Your miracles are dead to us

I lol'd at this, assuming I read it thinking of what your intentions were.

I'll feed this later though, I'm about to go out. But I liked what I read. :y:

Before I feed, I have to say that I did not like the subject matter haha It's the religious guy in me that's talking, so don't be too hurt by what I'm saying. That being said, I'm purely going to judge this on execution of rhymes, and MAYBE some quotables.

Yeah, Block, I don't get why you didn't structure it better. You had some dope rhymes, but I had to go on a scavenger hunt to find them lol Your verse, it seemed, had less multies, but that in no way brought down the verse at all. You made up for it by using relatable terms and pacing the wording just right so it flowed nice. Probably my favorite part (for the rhymes, of course lol):

"Entangled in the thrall, I won't live if I believe in this..
a way to save us all? I don't even get if we exist
and it's.. Jesus this and Jesus that... (he's sham)
I never read your scripture but I picked apart a piece of it,
and we believe a piece of him could heal me if I'm feverish??
you leave me with a lot of doubt & clouded negativity.."

Also, I liked the "amen" at the end hehe nice touch.

Fa-Q, I like that you're improving more. I liked the consistent flow and use of multies (even though some seem really forced). You even got me to look past my religious background and sort of "get" what you're saying, if not agree with it. This line stuck out to me most because it was so relatable:

"What happens to non-believers, are they thrown in hell,
Are you pokin’ fun with the angels with me, at show an’ tell, "

Good stuff, guys. I'm liking the abundance of collaborating and creative, topic-focused pieces lately. Opposed to the "I'm the shit" bravado-esque raps that were dominating this forum recently.

Thanks to everyone that posted feed. I'll return it all in the morning.

Also, thanks for the big breakdown, Arshey. I think you missed a few multies if you think I was lacking. But to me, that's a compliment, IMO. I try to make them fluent so that they're almost seemless and invisible. As for the structure: I didn't write this to a beat (if it wasn't obvious) and all of my pieces are written to an instrumental, as I plan on recording them. I don't plan on recording this, lol.

Oh, and P.S. This piece in no way relates to my actual views on God or anything of that matter. I was actually writing the total opposite of my personal opinion on the matter. :flutter: Call it a writing exercise, if you will.

Again, thanks everyone for the feed. It will all be returned.

Yeah, you're right. I did miss them, but I read your verse again and noticed a lot more. Goes to show how much thought you put into your verses :y:

Good collab, the subject matter ain't exactly my style but you guys pulled it off well.

Block your shit flowed almost flawlessly, great usage of multi's too. Catching all the rhyme schemes took awhile though with all the hidden rhymes & shit. I found myself half agreeing & half disagreeing with the message of your verse, though as you said it's not your actual beliefs but more of a writing challenge.

Favorite lines:

if you really did create us then, why are we all left to suffer?
we, tend to cover latest trends, a faithless sect that's next to nothing
yet you're bluffing that humanity was ever worth your time, & we
will ask if freedom's hard to find, like starting blind in hide & seek
Hide the seas... part the tides.. Your miracles are dead to us
unless we trust in you again... & You're the gift we're meant to love?
set that stuff ablaze, you vindictive little fuck...
amen.

FaQ while a more basic use of multis & rhyme schemes than Block your shit flowed just as well as his. A few of the lines didn't make sense though (at least not to me) like "Sometimes I feel like I’m Biggie, under Tupac’s stair" and "She broke my heart, and it hardened, it ached like Pharaoh"

Favorite lines:

I’ll ask You a question, is an OH-men the same as Amen, (favorite line of the song & something I wish i'd thought of myself)

Make me wander the desert, until my tongue has it thirst worn,
On this mountain is where the prayer ends, I’ll scream til air thins,

Good piece both of yall :y: , had some great chemistry between you 2 as well, it felt like a collab & not like 2 verses just thrown together.
