I always struggle to find the opening line of a verse...
People say just write whatever comes in your head, but it's not that easy. Especially not when I have a concept ready.

I know my advice means nothing,

but here's how I see it. If you write whats in your head on a concept track, you have to mix the concept with whats in your head and see what it produces.

I have the same problem, the first line is always the hardest to come up with. You should let the first line, along with the beat create the concept for you. But it really is just write what comes to your head. Just turn on the beat and let it play and when it gets to the spot where your verse starts just start freestyling until you come up with a line you like and go from there. The last song I wrote started with "I'm nice as fuck just look at me" so it's really not that big of a deal lol.

Let me put it this way :
Consider i wanna write some random things ,no matter what i do i end up making it a story ,which is not my intention . For eg. I am writing about moons and stars and as i make progress it turns into a story ,maybe i need to listen to more rappers who are experts in rapping about abstract topics, any suggestions ?

Thanks for the answers to both of you :y:
I'll try..

BTW Class, that line (I'm nice as fuck, just look at me) fit so well as the opening line for the verse I want to write (and had in my head while asking the question)

Damn it...

Why would you ever just want to rap about random things? All rappers who use abstract topics have an underlying theme/message/story in their work. You want everything to mean something. And don't try and set limits for yourself when you start, if something turns into a story then so be it because that's subconsiously what you want to do.

Yo class, did you catch my latest piece? Do you think I've improved since I first asked you for advice? What else would you recommend? :y:

Do you think I improved from my first piece (which I read it right now and it was a complete piece of shit lmao) ? And what do I need to be even better ?

Yeah that's a pretty good rhyme.

And well yeah you've gotten better since your first piece lol. And you just need to keep pushing yourself every piece. Try and use better and longer rhymes or more complex rhyme schemes. Rap your verse with the beat over and over again until your flow is perfect. Execute your new idea better than the last one. Don't settle for mediocrity.

Everything I just said to Cream also applies for Innovation.
