Overrated? The fuck?! :confusion: Honestly, i think that anything less than putting it in the upper echelons of his catalog is a criminal underrating. Its my favourite song by him... honestly.

But, objectively, its still a very solid track. From the content, to the complexity of lyrics, to the smoothness of flow to the control of voice to the addictive hook to the insane multies to the eerie beat...

Give us proof that it not "over-rated" else where and then I'll reply to you.

the beat and the hook is good, i'm not saying its a bad song at all, I just think it is overrated on this site (as in, many members hold this song higher then I feel it is)

I just think it was a lazy song... the verses don't really fit the hook (and then there's the fact that they were recycled verses)

Also, its called No Apologies, but he edits out the part about "Beyonce's pot belly"... isn't that kind of contradicting himself?

I'm not saying the song sucks or anything like that, don't get me wrong! Just a couple thoughts

The lyrics weren't really fitting for the beat, the beat was waaaaaaaay too dark for them.
Then again, with most piano/symphony bangers, people do whatever..

Am I the only one who thinks the songs wasn't mixed properly?

Anyhow, No Apologies is great, and everyone knows it. If they don't, it's because it's associated with the shitstorm of the Re-Up.

Respect for Jay Z

In the 'freestyle' version of it, back before Jay Z and her got married he said her name.

You don't have to be fat to have a 'pot belly', maybe she's just had a plump stomach before?

Then again, it might've just been a reach for a nice rhyme :smoking:

No, they weren't recycled verses.

Eminem writes and records songs for an album. He takes the recorded songs that didn't make the album, takes a couple verses from them, and raps them in interviews/cyphers/"freestyles." It's the reason he delivers the freestyles so smoothly with no mistakes, because he'd already committed the lyrics to memory when he recorded them in a song.

Every Westwood verse would have come from a song that didn't make an album. Similarly, he recorded No Apologies for The Eminem Show and it didn't make the album, so he took the first two verses and used them as freestyles in an interview. So in the INTERVIEW he recycled them.
Yeah cause Louis CK recycled his material from the special he did....nothing wrong....I laughed my ass off the same
I've heard him use a verse from "Bad Influence" as a freestyle. I've heard him use a verse from "Get You Mad" as a freestyle.

What's also funny is that you think there's any shame in recycling. That's what entertainers DO. Comedians recycle material all the time, from venue to venue. If you write something good, there is no shame in using it again, as long as the material is yours. It's just harder to recycle without people noticing these days (with YouTube etc.)
