[Verse 1: Mr.DGAF]
I'll try to be honest, most promises I made were imagined
A complacent kid that was hoping fate would make it all happen
I wouldn't change how I'm acting, I didn't strive to accomplish
My dreams of making it big, now I cry when I ponder
Why my life was so squandered, I'm ashamed to look back
Plus I hate what I did so I'm forced to face my new path
A new state, a new pad, a different place to go live
No limelights and honors I'm just stuck pacing my crib
I've changed from a kid with a dream to a lame that don't matter
I write for my momma, but know I won't get fame as a rapper
So just blame this on habits developed while I was a toddler
It's easy to blame a kid for ideas that pry at his noggin'
My dreams were comprised of somber thoughts that persuaded my actions
To do some creative shit that could escalate me up out this
House and escape the madness of my family, I say it proud
My dreams may have faded, just to be recreated when I lay it down

[Hook - In song]

[Verse 2: Hesky]
Never late, hardly a day off, not the classroom dunce
Yet you've been sitting right here jobless for the past two months
& not the first time either, unemployment's a bitch
Makes you feel poignant and sick, an unavoidable hitch
& now it's destroying you quick, and it's seeming a while
Since you pictured things differently, you'd dream as a child
About having a car, girlfriend, a job and some cash
and you've got none of those four now, I guess you've stopped in your tracks
Living a life on pause full of meaningless weeks
Without the Hollywood smile or even the Bruce Lee physique
That you envisioned growing up, luck just isn't occuring
Unless it's bad that you're referring to, 'cause that is deterring
Yup, I guess it's a case of crossing your fingers
& hope it goes away but still a lot of this lingers
Sometimes it helps to just laugh it off and play the clown
Hide behind the jokes, it's safe and sound so lay it down

[Hook - In song]

DAMN. :worship:
This shit was fucking DOPE. Both of you went hard as fuck, I loved this. I really really really relate to this.

@ Mr.DGAF that whole verse was nice, I particularly loved the vocab you used. That shit flowed well too, it's like all the words just connected very nicely. Good on a technical level as always. :y:

I feel that line about writing for your mom, that is some shit I feel too. Not just writing, but anything in life I do I just want to do my best for my parents so I can show them half the care & support theyve shown me in my life. Good stuff man :b:

@ Hesky, I was amazed at Mr.DGAF's verse and thought it'd be hard to top it, but you did just as sick.
"Yet you've been sitting right here jobless for the past two months."
I really love that line, im in the same exact position. Also, your rhymes were nice af. Flow was great. I don't what else to say, both of you executed this topic beautifully and painted a picture of each of your views on it.

Some very very solid shit guys. Keep at it, nice read. :thumbsup2:
"This dude doing this interview wants me to spin a few,
Lyrics while I tie my tennis shoes in the nude
A romantic interlude in a livin’ room,
In an inner tube with a dude with a bit of lube
Fuck that I’m sniffin’ glue, sippin' gin & juice,
And a little bit of paint thinner with my dinner too,
You better pay me for my bars like your rent is due,
Now hurry up and finish dude before I finish you."
