A Weary Heart

Postby Doodlebug » Aug 16th, '12, 13:00

I wrote this out very quick but I don't know - the pace seems pretty off to me. I'll detail the explaination first (on my site its last). I decided I'll pick this up this weekend and work on illustrating/animating it. In my mind I see deep purple/pink watercolor hues - them in the center with crowds milling about - line-blurred-silhoutettes... swashes of color, and vague details. I wrote it out quick to music - 2 edits.

In this verse, the “she” is the stronger part of each of us…. the part of us that battles the world, faces the harsh day to day – that shields our weary heart, giving it time to mend.

A Weary Heart

She holds me close
Shielding me from all

Crowds – around us
Not hearing her pleas
Not noticing us
as they breeze by

I begin to cry
Feeling the dark remorse that is my life
Not caring to be here
Simply wanting to go

But she grabs my hand
Pulling me back
Pulling me to her
In a desperate embrace

I look up and see the determination in her eyes
See the strength in all that she is
Protecting me from the world
Being – so that I can continue on

The world crashes in against her
As she shields me from its woes
I witness her struggle with the weight of it

Falling to her knees with a cry
I desperately wave at everyone
As I fight back my sobbing tears

Hoping someone would come to her side
Lift her up – hold her if but for a moment
Just enough for her to recover her breath

I see her there
Taking in all that she can and more
So weary now

As I reach out to her she falls
Trying to touch my hand
Pull me into her arms in a last attempt to caress me
Save me from the pain washing on me in waves

But it’s too much for her
As I watch her go down
Too much all alone
I cry as I see her leave me
See her leave life

I gasp at the realization I have lost her
What time now do I have left?

In panic I turn in circles
No one I see coming to help me

I drop to my knees in ultimate despair
Crying unheard moans of sadness
And everyone continues on their way
Deaf and blind to me

Darkness falls around me
As I breathe my last breaths
I am… alone.
