C'Mon Let Me Ride verse

Postby Kill You » Feb 1st, '13, 21:28

Yes, this is the best verse he's released in 2012. The chorus of the song being about her riding on a "bike" AKA a dick, he took that concept and made most of his verse a metaphor for bicycles, which was actually done in a very dope way. Plus his voice and flow, outstanding, best since The Warning. Like I have this whole verse memorized and can rap it perfect. Plus, he sounds very confident in this verse. His rhyming also manages to stay great while staying on subject and saying no embarrassing lines, which is (apparently) very tough for him to do these days and all.

Since it's been out for a while, what's everyone's take on it? This is my favorite part:

"Got this bitch gaggin', they call me the broadkiller
I'm the cousin of Godzilla 'cause I spit fire and my dick's draggin'!"

You guys might think the draggin'/dragon shit is corny but I think it's really clever and shows the type of wit he used to have. This verse gives me high hopes for his album.
"I guess this shit took an unexpected twist like the neck of the fricken Exorcist!"

Yeah that's a great line too. There are a lot of clever lines in this song.

Okay, are you gonna explain why or just make a claim and exit the thread? Anyone who isn't completely biased towards Eminem positively or negatively could listen to this verse and enjoy it. Most people believe this to be a good verse. I know you don't HAVE to fit in that category or anything but since your mindset is already "Eminem sucks right now" practically anything he does probably won't satisfy you.

You could try to turn it around on me and say "well, your mindset is always positive" but you would be wrong. I go into each Eminem verse with an open mind, if I don't like it I'll say it. If I do like it, I'll say that too. If a line is embarrassing I won't dismiss it. The difference between me and others is that I take a bad line and just forget it, because the lines surrounding it are good. EVERY rapper has at least one corny line in every rap and you don't see them being constantly torn apart. It's not right to call entire verses bad because of one line lmao. If that was the case most of his earlier material would have been called trash too because he used to put in random senseless lines A LOT. His recent verses REALLY aren't bad to me and to many people. It's not me brainwashing myself into thinking this shit is good, it genuinely sounds good to me. And this verse hits home in so many ways. It's like how people can listen to Lil B and call him good. You guys genuinely believe your Based God to be good and get defensive as fuck when people question it. Why can't we do that for Eminem, a rapper who is ACTUALLY a great rapper?

I don't have the mindset that "Eminem sucks right now". Where did you get that idea? Was it because I disagreed with you or did you simply pull it straight out your ass?

His "C'mon Let Me Ride" verse really is "not that good", which is all I said. Which doesn't mean it's bad, let alone "sucks". But it's not great and most people will concede that.

I really enjoyed the song and thought his verse was pretty damn perfect for it. it was funny, cool flow, good voice, made the whole thing about bikes and the rhyming was well done.

I think the whole Godzilla line was gay as hell...rest of the verse was good though.

its good for what it was. a last-minute feature verse.

u guys are overthinking it lol
"I take yall diss as endearment - I love it when I hear it
Maybe words offensive - free speech I don't fear it
Maybe music can take us to a place so atmospheric
Beyond our greatest imagination, illuminatin' experience
If we open our ears and close our inhibitions, it's clear"

If this is the best verse he's released in 2012, then that's really sad.

I take his Our House verse over any of the other verses he's released recently.

Besides the choppy flow, it's a pretty good verse.

I like the part where he's rapping about his bike, but he's really rapping about his penis.

Forgot I was having this argument with you. Oooooh clever pun on my name. Oh wait, I've already been doing that.

Okay then, if you won't explain why it's not that good and just say "it's that not good" then I can't make you. That's why I asked and all you did was attack me lmao. Whatever man.

And you DO have the mindstate that Eminem sucks right now because you say it all the time. Wow lol.
