Kobe Bryant has already got his place as the greatest to ever play the game. Kobe was screwed out of at least one MVP (you can make the case for 2), while LeBron wins the MVP because everyone is riding his nuts. It's a popularity contest now and real skill/valuable-ness is overlooked in the MVP voting.
LeBron is a beast, no denying this. He's a great player. But he got his title in a lock-out year which means there is an asterisk on the NBA Title for that year. Until LeBron gets 5 rings (6-7 perhaps, Kobe ain't done yet), LeBron is in no category for legacy-talking.
Right now LeBron is solely relying on his athleticism to be great... once his body starts going, you can kiss LeBron bye-bye. Kobe, on the other hand, plays through injuries, age, wear and tear, and what's he doing? Dropping 30/40/50 points still and relying on his SKILL. Kobe is still damn close to being better than LeBron right now anyway. LeBron is better though at the moment.
But in now way will LeBron ever touch Kobe's career. Ever.
