Trunk Muzik Returns...I can't emphasize how happy I am with this. I've never been more stoked about him, I've never heard a project of his that I didn't skip a song on. Well, Arena Rap, but that's an EP. Aside from that, I've never listened to a full-length project from him that I didn't feel like there was a little bit of filler in.

I know his potential though, and I respect his artistry. Now though...I feel like he has finally figured it out. God damn, this is fucking nice. He could have released this retail, and "Tennessee Love" would have worked as a single...the whole project is so consistent, and true to what he does. The fact that his plan is to follow the same process (more or less) for Love Story makes me feel like we might actually get some of that timeless music that he's been talking about wanting to create for a while now.

Well, to each their own.

To me though, this easily tops Trunk Muzik 0-60. It's more consistent, and his rapping is better overall. It's also more conceptual, whereas Trunk Muzik 0-60 was more of an introductory release so that people could see the different sides of what he does. There's a lot of creativity on there, but there are also songs (like "I Just Wanna Party") that don't really add anything to the album. They're just rap songs, which are good for what they are, but don't really compare to what he's doing on here.

Since he just did an interview with XXL saying "I'll tell you straight up, I hate Radioactive", I doubt he'll be making another album like that. He also said that he and WillPower will be doing the album together, and then he'll take it to Eminem and they'll finish it up and get it finalized. Love Story is starting to look up, for sure.
