I heard on the news, when they were discussing adding the 14 new missile interceptors, that the current ones in place, when tested, didn't work as well as predicted lol.

They interceptors have been proven to work, kinda inconsistently though. aving so many up at the moment though means that if one misses there will be a lot of backup ones. I personally dont doubt that any missiles fired will be taken down before they do anything.

Those interceptors are there to ward off strikes on the west coast anyway, so North Korea will need to work out the kinks in their long-range missiles to be a threat. They'll likely avoid actually nuking South Korea, because the nuclear fallout would affect them as well. Any strike on South Korea would most likely be with more traditional weapons, which we are more than capable of handling if the South Koreans can't.

I still don't believe that China will get behind an offensive on the United States. We have a symbiotic relationship; neither country is in a position to go without the other for the time being. Economically, we depend on each other. Despite whatever North Korea *may* have in terms of resources, the fact is that without the United States to buy (or plunder) said resources, they don't mean nearly as much as they could.

Russia, on the other hand...we're tense allies at best, I suppose. I don't think they would strike either, unless we were talking about an all out World War. Even then, it's difficult to say. At that point though, this whole discussion will change drastically. I don't think it will get that far though, because North Korea will back down before then.
