This song is just amazing. The most emotional song he's ever recorded, and I've even heard he tried to kill himself the same day he recorded it. Goddamn, I was working on King Mathers (all of his 2006-2008 songs compiled into a coherent album), and I put this in before Beautiful, and just wow, this shit got to me. I've never really listened to it before, but after I did, I realized that this is one of my favorite songs.

It would've been more than great if he didn't recorded it when he was going through the circles of hell. It's true it makes you feel what he feels by just listening to the record but at the same time him been half dead on it robs its quality as a song.
I do love the lyrics or generally the message a lot! Beyond deep tbh.

Nah he was probably alone when he recorded it & that's why he even recorded it while in this condition.
It supposed to have a hook as it's structured to have one but there could have a thousand reasons why there is no hook on it.
As a matter of fact there might be even a re recorded version with better vocals too but we'll never know that anyway.
Obie added a hook & kind of did his own version of it a little after it got leaked... you can check it out if you haven't

I know... I said it too. You could literally kind of imagine all of it & even feel it & if it was just as a gesture it'd be perfect but as a song it kinda lacks quality 'cuz of the condition Em was when he recorded it.
If he recorded it sober, clean & adequate it might have been a ground braking masterpiece as a song too & it would've burned the Internet into ashes.

Obie added a hook & did his own version after the song leaked... it wasn't meant to be that way before it leaked though.
