Em's best lead single ever? (only including solo albums)

It's tight between My Name is and TRSS
IMHO the two go hand in hand together. You can't have the latter without the genius of the first, however TRSS is easily the best rap single ever made. The rhyming, the jokes, the humour, the relevance, the hook; everything about it is flawless. The last verse is one of his best verses of all time. Period.
However, My Name Is is just pure genius. It captures Eminem's natural ability to write an almost flawless piece of hip-hop, with great humour and wacky punchlines, whilst still being a pop-single for everything to rap to or sing in their heads. And at the end of the day, both tracks are technically brilliant too.
Without Me deserves recommendation as well (completing the two), but these two are just sublime.
I do love Without Me.

You made a great point actually... it kinda feels like it didn't hit as hard as the other two but it actually did considering that was Em's introduction which laid the foundation for everything else.

yeah its hard to argue that my name is lead into trss, and so forth till without me. i'd still pick trss and without me over my name is, those are more rap songs, my name is too slow for me basically.

I'd still pick both of them over My name is too if we talk about what the songs are all about but honestly I give it up for My name is for putting EM on that hard... esp. considering what rap was representing at the time.
