Not sure if i can't find the link of the interview but in 2009 he said it was a song he wrote and produced while he was sober. Basically a song he felt he had to write to get all the pain he was going thru of his chest. Made him feel good getting it of his chest. Then spoke about how it made him really happy people saying to him that song helped them over come their problems.

This might sound like a clishe but this is actually true. Outside the internet i have not seen anyone say they felt that song wasn't great Em fans seem to love it. Also came across people that weren't Em fans that liked the song too. Even on the internet on twitter and all that so many seem to tweet things like this 1 of their fave songs.

I think it was a huge hit as well not top 10 but top 30. Again for a dark song addressing serious issue of addiction/depression. That is quite amazing such a dark and serious issue song reached that high in the billboard chart.

People like EmBase and a few others always talk about oh we can loook past the serial killing and rapist content, middle eastern accent, punchlines etc on Relapse cus we can appreciate the flows blah blah. Well people who think this way shouldn't be hypocritical when it comes to Beautiful even if you don't like what he saying in the song or chorus. You can appreciate the delivery and how great he sung the chorus. You can appreciate the dope beat he produced, the chill laid back flow he had. It's not about being hypocritical
