The external harddrive is still limited by your USB transfer speed, unles you have a removable bay which I do lol

Honestly, I really don't care how people with a macbook air function because I don't have one. Just saying, for me personally, the one time I wouldn't have a spot for a disc would be the time I would want one.

I don't know, I don't have the slightest clue about Macs to be honest.

I meant a removal harddrive bay that uses SATA II connectors so you aren't limited to the USB transfer speed. We use them at work to transfer the 100+GB files off the harddrives rather than using USB ports. So I got one in my home PC.

Speaking of which, PS4 has the equivelent of 4k digital cinema resolution. Downloading those files from Sony will take forever, they'll be enormous.

It is the same speed that you get from any SATA 2 - like when transferring from hard drive to hard on a regular PC. 100GB takes like 30-60 minutes I guess. I don't really know, I click transfer and walk away.

Depends on what USB speed you have. USB 3.0 is 10x faster then 2.0.

2.0 = 31 minutes
3.0 4 minutes.
