Doctors are supposed to protect life so they are not, they must NOT be allowed to kill a patient. Doctors are meant to save lives.

A doctor and a priest is NEVER in such a situation that they have to give up.

A doctor is like a lawyer.

Sometimes death is preferable
Sometimes the client is guilty

The doctors work is to keep him alive at any cost
The lawyer's work is to proove his client is innocent at any cost

It's up to the court/god to decide if is guilty/gonna die.

Don't you think everyone should have a free choice?..

there are things that people shouldnt be free to do.

like murdering. If a patient is not capable of going and jumping on his own than he shouldnt force someone to commit murder.

in my previous post somewhere on the 1st page i said everyone should have free choice to sign permission for euthanasia if they would to have one. it wouldn't have to be obligatory, but if someone feels he doesn't want to live as a plant later [in case of failure during the operation or whatever], then why not?

^ in that case no one forces you. it's your choice.

btw. i think at the moment we are free to do whatever we want to. you can't prevent people from taking drugs or kill other people. in that case choice is free, but consequences are unavoidable.

its not ur choice to ask to be killed, if u dont wanna live, go face death urself and blast ur head off. We can give freedome for anything, but taking it as far as patients signing the paycheck of the hitman thats going to kill u is wrong.

If a patient is not capable of saying he wants to die, U CANT END HIS LIFE simply coz u dont know wat hes thinking, maybe he wants to withstand the pain and live longer...

if you're seriously sick and you know there's 50% chances for you to get better and you go to the hospital to have an operation, you have to be aware of the fact, that it can fail. in this case, you COULD have a free choice - if YOU didn't want to live in coma or as a plant, you COULD have give them permission for disconnecting the whole apparatus.

euthanasy should be allowed, but NOT obligatory. i've never said it's supposed to be obligatory. if you wanted to withstand the pain and live longer, then go on, no one would chase you with a syringe..

Y disconect if the person is still technically alive... if he dies, hell watever, but hes alive, people have woken up after coma. Ofcourse theyll tell you theyll pull the plug, coz they to stingy to pay for your coma. Wat if u get a transplant, wat if something else happens.... u dont know= FACT> cant kill the person knowing he has a chance. NO MATTER WHAT.

its not about if i wanted to live longer, were talking about wanting to die. What kind of pussy do i have to be to go to the doctor and tell him to kill me for me? A man has the ability to end himself, but the fact alone that HE DOES NOT WANT TO DO IT HIMSELF already makes controversial, coz naturally he wants to survive and the doctor helps him fight his BASIC instinct.

This is an example of the kind of moral standarts will kill mankind of in the future.

ummm.. i guess you cannot make a man with broken backbone move again, can you?

do you read what i type Aspy? i try to emphasize the fact of patient's wish.

AspirinE wrote:ts not about if i wanted to live longer, were talking about wanting to die.

yeah?

it wasn't me who said about longer living in pain, Aspy :smoking:

yoshi wrote:if you wanted to withstand the pain and live longer, then go on, no one would chase you with a syringe..

i just refered to what you'd said before.

why do you want to decide for other people?.. if someone wants to die, then for heaven's sake, let him do it.. if he doesn't see a point in living in coma or as a plant, without ability to move or speak, if he feels like he doesn't wanna to aggravate other people in keeping him alive, clean him and change diapers.. why can't we leave him a choice? choice between turning into something he doesn't want to and just finishing it all?

but don't worry Asp, i know what you mean and fully understand your opinion :8)
