I was thinking that if a school has a rotten basketball court or something, then you could write improving and fixing up that.

What about offering a class to students or children that don't have access to basic technology once or twice a week teaching them how to use technology in an educational way since that's the route teaching is going anyway? I did a project similar to this where that's what we did and it worked out great.
