You have an audio interface you plug your XLR cable into, right? Turn the gain all the way down. That'll give you room to mix better (compression, mostly).

All the way down. It'll still pick up noise, but just your voice since that's the loudest. It'll give the best pure vocal recording. Then slap some compression on that bitch.
