New Kendrick Lamar album this coming Summer/September

Postby fifflaren » Feb 28th, '14, 20:10

Free thinks the long-awaited debut from Black Hippy - the supergroup featuring Lamar, Q, Rock and Ab-Soul - is likely to appear in 2014; Tiffith indicates that TDE is planning to release a new Lamar album this coming September, too.

Just don't expect anything to change when it comes to TDE's creative process. "It's still the same House of Pain," says Rock with a laugh. "We were all sleeping on that old couch, away from home for weeks, thugging it out together, putting in the work. It has to have that feel to remind us to stay hungry."

During the red carpet at Music's Biggest Night, VIBE spoke to good kid, m.A.A.d. city producers Scoop Deville, DJ Dahi and production duo THC about the early stages of the album.

"We're in the lab right now and we're creating music," Scoop Deville tells VIBE. "I'm working hard on making a sound for [Kendrick] that is definitely going to take him where he needs to be—musically, sonically—the people are going to feel it. That's what we do it for—we're not trying to make hit records."

Scoop also says that K. Dot has been recording demos to some of his beats and DJ Dahi, Alex Foley and Rockie also confirmed that they have started working on Kendrick's next album.

Confirmed:
Terrace Martin, Dj Dahi, Scoop Deville & THC
Should be on the album: Dj Quik, Soundwave
Possible other producers: The Alchemist, Warren G, Dr Dre, Q-Tip,

Jay Rock and Ab-Soul first though. The TDE drought of 2013 hasn't helped their albums' release.

Jay and Ab are indie artists, they ain't signed to Interscope and they aren't expected to move big numbers

People said the exact same thing about Q and Kendrick. Plus Rock already has the buzz from his features on the other BH albums (because quite frankly, he renegaded all three). They deserve their deals from Interscope already.

yeah but top dawg confirmed that only kendrick and schoolboy Q are under Interscope, the others are TDE (jay rock is also signed to Strange)

btw, tde said they will probably release a black hippy album this year...A Black hippy album like two weeks before Kendrick's album would be dope as hell and create crazy hype :confusion:
