http://battlerap.com/news/smackurl-co-m ... rl-emcees/In a newly released VladTV segment, battle rapper Ah Di Boom and co-manager of the SMACK/URL league Norbes spoke at length about the upcoming and recently confirmed match up between Hollow Da Don and Joe Budden. During the sit down, Norbes called for a full-out Slaughterhouse battle, pitting his own favored four battlers up against the group for a hypothetical bill.
On the matter of his upcoming match against Hollow, Norbes said he’s “gonna die” or Joe Budden, “he’s gonna lose 6-0.”
“Let’s get deep into it,” Ah Di Boom added. “People study the game tapes. [Loaded] Lux wasn’t rapping like he did with Miles with Calicoe. He studies the game tapes. I’m not saying, ‘Oh, Buddens is about to wash this nigga Hollow.’ You never know what happens. You can’t tell the future. A lot of people be like, ‘Oh, [Aye] Verb was gonna wash [Charlie] Clips.’ Look what happened. 3-0. Clear.”
“It’s a difference because a lot of people look at the mainstream,” Norbes said in response. “Yeah, Joe Budden is a lyrical dude on a track, but you’re stepping into Hollow’s domain. The only thing that nigga might win is the coin toss.”
Still, Ah Di Boom maintained his stance. “I’m just saying we can’t underestimate what Joe Budden is gonna do,” he responded. “I don’t know what he’s gonna do. I’ve never seen him battle before. He could study the game tapes and mirror somebody and switch his style into that style.”
Later in the interview, Norbes went on to expand his take on battlers versus industry rappers.
“You could take all four niggas from Slaughterhouse, bring them to Summer Madness,” he started. “I’ll pick my four top niggas from SMACK. I’m getting Charlie Clips, I’ll take Lux, Hollow…I’ll take Ill Will ‘cause he’s actually in my Top 5. My four dudes, Ill Will, Hollow, Lux, and Clipse, will win 16 rounds to zero. Yes. Yes…It’s a different ball-game. Back in the day. It’s a different ball game.”
Referencing HipHopDX’s own interview with Hollow Da Don on the topic of his battle with Canibus, VladTV mentioned the possibility that despite having a battling background, some industry rappers may suffer from a dated perspective on the current battling scene.
“They’re performing tracks that people know in the audience,” Norbes said of Slaughterhouse. “You’re performing brand new material to the Top 4 best niggas that I got that’s used to this shit? No disrespect to Slaughterhouse.
“I like Slaughterhouse,” he continued. “Crooked I’s my favorite, and I like Joey. I’m not gonna front. Those are my two niggas. Having said that, I’m gonna make a call out. If their four wanna do it against my top four at Summer Madness—‘cause this is where it counts, on SMACK—I’ll take the four that we pick and it really is gonna be a slaughterhouse…Before anybody thinking I’m hating or whatever, I respect what them niggas do. I’m a fan of their music. But if their four members would come to SMACK and I grab my four guys—I’m gonna repeat this shit—it is really going to be a slaughterhouse.”
