i think it takes a few spins to realise how many fucking 10/10's there are.

but a lot of people dont like the opening track all that much, which puts them off on a bad foot.

it's potentially my favourite on the album tho. so dont know what cunts are on about.

Yeah I love the opening track one of the standouts imo, it just feels so melancholy and atmospheric. & I just recently realized how powerful Yesterday is, I mean I always did but damn does it hit hard. & word it does take a while to really appreciate, I've been spinning it for over a year or so now and only am just starting to sorta love it (I always liked it and respected it tho but never like loved it). Also I agree that puppets is a goat song, it's soo catchy, lol

Yesterday is a song that clicked with me from the get-go. I mean, I really enjoyed songs like Dreamer, You, etc from the beginning too .. but it wasn't after maybe the second spin that I started to "love" them. The last few lines from Yesterday just hit me lol

What I was saying is even though some of what is said doesn't make a lot of sense I can still appreciate for the gibberish it is: and that's what makes it good lyrically, because it's not traditionally what you'd think is good but there's a message hidden within it.

Exactly.

Did the album meet your expectations?

Surpassed. I thought it would be Brother Ali's worst album in the low 8's but was surprised how good it was and it's my second favorite of his. Only held back by having too long of a tracklist.

Yeah same. Yesterday is an obvious 10/10 from the start. But after a good amount of listens (10-30), you realise how frighteningly consistent it is throughout.
