SOME did. I like some of the stuff on GKMC but its NOT a classic. It has dumb features and Kendrick talks in that voice altered voice the whole time it seems like. A lot of the songs are very mono tone. Its a good album, but no classic. People just say it is because he's a new artist who actually dropped something good. And he has the name Dr.Dre with him, so then everyone flips shit automatically because of Dre's history.

Do all you haters think people knew the first Mathers LP was also one of the greatest rap albums ever just seven months after it came out?

Lmao :facepalm2

You are gonna get chewed up SO hard by someone.

MMLP hit like an atomic bomb. I was 7 and I fucking knew all about it.

Well yeah. EM was SO popular then. Coming off SSLP, and The Chronic w/Dre. This one will take a while to be known as a classic by the public. Especially since it didn't have a huge impact (cus rap sucks rn) and he isn't that popular anymore (as he used to be). Even Em states that on Rap God. :worship:

GKMC is a classic, whether you like it or not. Every single feature fit and worked well. Drake was absolutely PERFECT for Poetic Justice, a softer song about women. MC Eiht worked fantastically in giving Kendrick that old-school hip-hop vibe for MAAD City. Jay Rock gave the best feature verse on the entire album and one of the best feature verses I've heard in a while. Dre worked perfect for a hype track like Compton. The altered voice is used to bolster Kendrick's storytelling. Anna Wise's singing on both Money Trees and Real work well. She has an interesting (if a bit weird) voice that works in tandem with the feel of each song.

Now, not that I hate the verse, but what sense is there in sticking Kendrick fucking Lamar on Love Game? or Skylar Grey on Asshole? Or Paulina or whatever her fucking name is on Legacy? Or Sia on Beautiful Pain? Sarah Jaffe on Bad Guy? Liz Rodriguez on Survival? I could swap any of those last 5 singers for each other and it wouldn't make a single fucking difference to me. Even Rihanna on The Monster doesn't make much sense (beyond obvious reasons) but at least her voice is unique and different from the other 5 generic singers.

I definitely wouldn't say that about Skylar. At least on MMLP2. Remember when everybody thought Survival had Skylar on it? (then Skylar actually hopped on it and we heard how bad it was). For Sia, I guess I can see what you're saying. When compared to the others, she definitely stands out a bit more.

Yeah, I know. But that's why I said it's cuz her voice is never used properly, and as a result it makes her sound like others :n: I heard "I'm Coming Home" on the radio today and her voice is phenomenal.

She has a good voice, it is a tad 'generic' though, no matter what way she uses it...great live singer doe

Not saying she's bad...In fact, I loved her on Asshole, but the beat drowned her out so much I couldn't hear half of it.
