the problem is lebron will always be compared to jordan. i am not as lebron fan but the man is that good. he will never be jordan in my eyes but i grew up on jordan. as unbiased as i can be, jordan had something that not only lebron wont have, im not sure anyone can have, that intense ability to see he wanted to win every game every time he was on the court. the closest to that was kobe, which is why i can't put lebron above kobe now either.

Lebron has better statistics than Kobe in every category except points but I'd still say Lebron is the better scorer because of how much more efficient he is

Kobe was the best player in the league for about five years, that's undeniable. The fact he only got one MVP in that stretch is dumfounding. He's also a better scorer than LeBron and I don't really think that should be debatable either. Body size is a huge factor in LeBron's scoring, and that's not a bad thing, but if we're talking shooting skill/post moves then its Kobe. LeBron has only recently become an efficient post scorer.

Also, LeBron cannot guard "the best PF/Center". He may be able to cover a big guy for a possession, but if you plant him in the post against a dominant big man for longer than a few plays he will be bullied.

That being said, he's clearly the best player in the league and has been for about three or four years. His size and athleticism is unfathomable.

As for the series, as quickly as those on the last page assumed it could be a sweep right now for the Heat, it could just as easily be a sweep for the Spurs. The Spurs were thoroughly outplayed in the second half of game 2 and only lost by 2-5 (really 5 since SA got a garbage time three as time expired).

That should be undeniable if Miami wins 3 straight with LeBron winning 3 straight Finals MVPs as well. Kobe wasn't THE GUY on his team for the Lakers 3 peat, LeBron clearly is for his. That's that for hardware, LeBron is already statistically a better overall player than Kobe is.

I guess, but I doubt the Heat win this year.

Also, during the Lakers' 3-peat, Shaq and Kobe were 1a and 1b. Kobe certainly wasn't a side-kick, every-time Shaq was struggling, Kobe stepped up. He had 21, 29, and 27 points per game in the 3-peat years respectively. Hit big-time shots and had big-time plays.

Let's not forget how many times LeBron got bailed out by his ridiculously stacked team either, something Kobe gets shit for lol

A better scorer doesn't mean you're a better player, I just want to point that out.

He had an outstanding answer for the critics, he always does. And agreed, better scoring doesn't mean you're the better player. KD's a better scorer and is still decisively the second best player in the league.

However, Kobe wasn't just a scorer. Before his age started catching him he was also a great defender and, though his skeptics might claim otherwise, a very capable passer.

Most of you won't admit this yet as it is still relatively early (and more than likely have a bias opinion on Lebron) but most people players/legends already put LeBron over Kobe, some placing him 2nd to Jordan.... and with how many years Lebron has yet to play, only time will tell if he'll surpass Jordan.

Kobe has always been dominant, but there has never been a definitive "Kobe era". He had a great run as Shaq's side kick, and then was consistently good for a few years, with his back to back championships being the most impressive highlight of his career.

In the last 4 years, LBJ has won 2 MVPS, 2 championships, 2 Finals MVPS, 4 straight Finals appearances, and led Miami to the 2nd longest winning streak in NBA history.... not to mention that those 2 championships/finals MVPS can easily become 3 in the matter of a week or 2.

Kobe has never had a run that impressive.


As far as "excuses" go, the guy was having a great game with the AC off.... he left with the injury in the 4th with 25 points (over 50% FG), 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals with 32+ minutes clocked in.

Playing at such a high level is bound to leave you prone to injury in such conditions, it was unfortunate, but definitely not an excuse.... shit happens.

Lebron 2nd to Jordan As of right now he has as many embarrassing finals performances as he has rings. He has zero case for top 5.

and of course he's more efficient than kobe, his #1 priority is to protect his FG%
