Pretty much agreed with its more so negative reactions: all style, no substance. Dull characters who I'm not really given a reason to care about accompanied by a lacklustre plot. It was completely eyecandy though, and I loved the fight scene between Lt. Chang and Julian.

Drive was fantastic, watched it too many times. Don't see myself watching Only God Forgives ever again except to refresh on what it was in the future. Need to cop Drive on Bluray

i'm in the minority, but i liked Only God Forgives. it's not very substantial, but i had a blast watching it. it's kinda the arthouse equivalent of a big summer blockbuster in that regard. not sure how it would hold up to rewatch. It was stupid but mildly interesting for the first half and I think the point that the director claims to have made with A Serbian Film didn't need or benefit much from this film.
