What part of thinking Drake and Macklemore make soft ass music makes me an elitest exactly??

Serious question......

I fuck with T.I, I fuck with alot of rappers that are mainstream and what not......... I just don't fuck with rappers that are softer then baby shit........That's all, no elitism about it........ I'd bump a Lil Jon record all day and night before either of these dudes and I'm pretty sure that wouldn't make me a "Real Hip Hop Head" by anybodies definition

Softer than baby shit? What do you mean?

If you had kids I wouldn't have to explain that comment lol

I just mean it's the kind of rap record I would buy for my 5 year old man, it's like the hip hop version of a Disney Flick. I like my rap confrontational, aggressive and hard edged. I don't care if it's ultra lyrical shit or if it's "Get the crowd amped up" shit like DMX use to make.

Listening to a rap record that doesn't have some rebelliousness to it to me is like watching Soft-core HBO porn, If I'm gonna watch porn at all I want it XXX, otherwise it's a waste of time, ya dig??

To each his own tho.

So you think that dark depressing tracks about drug use are totally acceptable for your child. I would've thought, you know, intelligence on a rap track should take priority over bravado and posturing. Are you telling me you prefer Em's retard-level verse on Welcome 2 Detroit over Stan?

Soft music does not automatically mean music for children. It's also certainly not inferior. I sincerely fucking hope you have never allowed your 5 year old kid to listen to 97 Bonnie and Clyde or Stan.

He was, he wasn't talking about Drake rofl. Nothing about what Drake said ruins his credibility

Drake would fucking murder Mackelmore if they were to exchange diss records

That white nigga would only have a chance if he appealed to the common Drake jokes and took it to a whole another level, but that would be corny as fuck

Drizzy would be the ones with the bars for sure

Back to the matter at hand...

I think that Drake used a humorous song at an awards show as an opportunity to take a shot at someone else, which I don't have a problem with. Does anyone seriously have a problem with this?

You have no idea how many people have made that MGS reference...funnily enough, still hasn't gotten old.

And I see what you mean, yeah. That joke seemed to be the only one with a legitimate bit of malice behind it.

I agree Drake would lyrically body Macklemore but the only thing is Macklemore is an easy target. I would rather Drake either put a serious diss track against Jay-Z or Kendrick Lamar.

wanting rappers to diss each other and start beefs is stupid. yeah, there have been great diss tracks in the past, but this is a different era of hip-hop and we're all better off with dope rappers collaborating rather than feuding. there's no need for Hov or Kendrick to be involved in any diss tracks

having said that, Drake has a legitimate grievance with Macklemore

I do not want rappers to beef for the sake of beefing and write diss tracks just to boost their album sales( e.g. 50 cent). I also love it when dope rappers collaborate. However in the case of Drake, we know him and Jay-Z have been trading light barbs at each other and we know him and Kendrick are not on good terms right now and also have traded light barbs at each other as well. I am just like why doesn't Drake focus on them instead of Macklemore who is such an easy target after the whole "he robbed Kendrick situation". I mean it isn't like these feuds are gonna get violent or anything.

This.
The backgrounds that both Drake & Macklemore are from play a big part in how they fit into the Hip Hop scene.
No one sees them as a threat physically - hence why thousands of people everyday talk shit about them on the Internet, on TV etc because there is little to no threat of it becoming violent.
Shit, even a lot of the 'gangster' rappers that get dissed don't respond in the way they claim in songs.
