Beastie Boys

Postby Mr Change » Aug 4th, '14, 23:43

So after years of reading that the Beastie Boys inspired this rapper or that rapper (I'm looking at you, Em) I finally decided to download their albums and check them out for myself.

All I have to say is wow, this is some of the coolest and most unique music I've probably ever heard. Been bumping their stuff for around a week now and enjoying it immensely.

Just wondering, who else here listens to the Beastie Boys and what are some opinions on them?

True. I believe this is the main appeal to me, the fusion of those genres.

Love the beastie boys and also their DJ Mix Master Mike. I wanted to buy myself a turntable because I was so inspired by him! I think their best song is Hold It Now, Hit It.
Seeing as you're a Beastie fan I'd say you consider checking out some Whodini, Run DMC and LL Cool J's earlier shit, in particular the Radio album :)

Don't feel left out OP, it took me a while to get around to hear their music too. The ones people have posted already are some of my favorites, but I also suggest checking out their last album Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 2. Make Some Noise has classic Beastie vibe to it.

Yeah I liked that song ever since I heard it on the Madden 13 soundtrack (or Madden 12, idr), but I never knew it was a Beastie Boys track. So I downnload Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 2 and hear it and I'm surprised :smoking:
