Slaughterhouse (2009) album appreciation

Postby Mr Evil » Aug 11th, '14, 15:24

Put it here since they they weren't signed to Shady Records yet...

But yeah, this is a fantastic album with some unbelievable verses & beats.
I think this shits all over "Our House" and deserves a lot more love, It's just lyrically impressive from start to finish.

I still listen to and enjoy this album from time to time. It's one I forget about for a year or then stick it on and find it brilliant.
I've only listened to Our House once straight through and to be honest I thought it was abysmal

I wish you were a member here during the Welcome to: Our House anticipation, and then the release.

How was the reception? Awful I'm guessing

I was the only person (or at least I felt like the only person) bashing it and condemning their decisions since signing to the label, whilst the vast majority were in denial and trying to convince themselves it was dope.

Wow, that's actually surprising
I never had any enthusiasm for the album when it first dropped, I just listened to it all on Spotify about a year ago. So glad I never paid money for it cuz it's rank rotten lol

I used to love this album, it just sounds like too much rapping for me now... and it's not Eminem rapping so i cant bare it for a full listen.

You actually defended me at the height of the backlash I was receiving, so mad props :y:

I haven't seen any of your posts at the point I'm currently at. Currently it's all praise for the throwing dicks song:

I agree with your statement. I also think that the vast majority were in denial and trying to convince themselves it was dopeImageI also think that the vast majority of members who liked the album and heavily praised it when it dropped, no longer feel the same.

That's for damn sure

If their next album is bad I think there's no hope
Cause I can’t explain to y’all how dang exhausted my legs felt, just having to balance my dang self but on eggshells I was made to walk but thank you, ma, ‘cause that gave me the strength to cause Shady-mania
