Yeah, it's definitely not their forte. They did it in their first few seasons when they were young, but it looks like we're going full out offense with them and Vrbata.

Then our second line is pretty balanced (if it stays how it's been in camp) with Bonino centering Burrows and Kassian.

Bonino is a good 2-way player...i know Bryan Murray wanted him as well.....you'll like him.

He plays the game properly and he's always a + players in the +/- stat.

Im more worried about Burrows and Kassian than him to be honest.

he's at the prime of his career, what more does he want then to have a chance to play in Canada where hockey matters. i think he'll play hard and be very good for van...that's Bonino.

whats your thought on Miller?

Um... I understand signing him to have a veteran presence but I'm not a huge fan of the term. I think two years would have been perfect (like they gave Vrbata), three is too many.

Let's be honest here, outside of Canada and USA no one really cares about hockey. I think the NHL is making a big mistake by getting the world cup of hockey back. I guess this means no more winter Olympics. And in Europe you got Russian and Sweden who love the game like we do and hockey matters there. I really think this is going to be a fail for the NHL.

Unfortunately not enough of the US cares either. I live in New York and during the playoffs my school magically started having a billion Ranger fans while ive been a fan for a while. My friend didn't even know who Nash and Zuccarello are

well you got your hockey markets in the US with real loyal fans such as Philly, Boston, Chicago, Rangers and Detroit...the game is also growing in other parts such as L.A. and a few other markets......

its just that the US has so many people in the country see you have your real hockey fans and the bandwagon fans....but its grown significantly in the recent years...the ratings are crazy.

another thing, right now the US is producing some of the best hockey players in the world with young kids right now....you'll see in the near future that a lot of the good players will be coming up from USA.

Definitely true. I also noticed that more US high schools have teams now. I kind of regret doing football instead of hockey when I was younger now.

Ay Ray, do you remember before we talked a bit about doing a pool? I'd be willing to run one if I could get like 3-4 people (3-4 including me) to join. We'd do a draft (with a salary cap so we're not just teams of stars), which would probably go fairly quickly since it would be like... a three team pool lol.

It wouldn't be overly time consuming aside from making your picks. After that I'd just let it run, and we'd see who was where at the end of the season.

Penguins are obviously my team.

I think we won't be as strong of a regular season team, but I do like the additions we got during the off season. It'll help in the playoffs.
Our defense will struggle this year. We lost a lot of grit and pure defense and from the looks of it building a more offensive defense which always burns us.

I'm also a big sharks fan, and because they are demoting and making their stars feel like shit I think they'll have a sub par season and miss the playoffs (the west ain't no joke...subpar seasons get you a summer of lazy boys and early dinners)
