Anyone who thinks illmatic is Nas' only classic is a straight moron, also the only Jay z album really considered on par critically wise with RD is BP, TBA doesn't enter that discussion. Now whether it actually is or not is different, personally I think it's better than Blueprint but yeah. Than again I don't think illmatic is the end all be all rap album, and think Nas has come close to it or at least around its level in like IWW, just the public decred it as mafioso bandwagon fluff (when he had a mafioso verse in The Infamous a year before IWW) and Lost Tapes is considered by many fans a classic about as much as people praise TBA.

Well when someone drops a masterpiece why shouldn't they get credit it for it, if every album Kendrick releases from now on is subpar or nowhere near GKMC people will still be talking about it and that alone would put him on the map. Also considering Nas drops a shit ton of albums he's bound to get a few filler and flops in between some pretty good to even great ones. I stopped looking at discographies as some stupid ratio game and just measure who has the most preponderance of quality material, even if we do go by that dumb autistic method of weighing in how many mediocre albums one has against how man classics, jay-z dropped a bunch of mehish to downright poop albums as well.
