Encore does have its moments. LTS is a masterpiece. But in late 2004 I played mosh for someone who hadn't heard the album or the singles. They just couldn't understand what happened between lose yourself and this. "Why does he sound like that?" "Does he use this voice on the whole song?" "What happened??" I feel sad that I didn't know how to answer these questions from them or myself until many years later.
