Sounded very weird to me. For example:

WILLOW: Caring less what everybody else thinks, but also caring less and less about what your own mind thinks, because what your own mind thinks, sometimes, is the thing that makes you sad.

So, you find it easy to switch off from the artist's personality ? It's difficult for me, especially if the music is supposed be "real", written by the artist to reflect his/her life experience and/or personality. I can handle weird stuff in the music, but not in real life.
