New Eminem album on the way

Eminem has decided to come out of retirement and release a new album.

The rapper took a break from the music business after getting "bored" last year, but R&B singer Akon has revealed that he is ready to start sharing his music again.

"Eminem told me he was getting bored with everything, which is why he took a break. But he's back working on an album and I've got some records ready for him to use on it," Akon told the Daily Star.

"I know him through Obie Trice and we've talked about doing something together for so long, but our schedules made it impossible. It was our chemistry that got him out of retirement."

Not sure how realiable the news is, but this news has been spreading quickly so I thought I'd pass it on here. Who's up for a new Eminem album?

no offence b ut this is old news i been saying for nearly 2 months that he was doing another album that will be coming out in the 4th quarter of next year and that was a statement from interscope records

also eminem has never retired he said he was taking a break and never said he was retiring

This news was reported today by DigitalSpy, there are always rumours but this particular article only came out today so it was posted as the source is quite reliable.

good news...but if its a new album...I don't think too many records with Akon would be good....it'll make money but I hope the album is straight eminem....

REgardless of where TR got it I'm a little suspicious of Akon being the one to drop the news. I have no doubt that they have working chemistry but I don't think working with Akon would be the primary motivation for bringing Eminem out of his "semi-retirement."

I don't want to hear a throwback to what Eminem has done before. With every album he's evolved and matured as an artist and I want to see more of that.

As for songs like "Fack" and the more recent dance tunes that he's done like "Shake That" and "Smack That" the man worked like a fiend for the first five years that he was out. Let's see: SS LP, MM LP, Eminem Show, Eight Mile and the soundtrack for Eight Mile, Encore, two or three tours, and other colloborations and production work. If the man wants to relax and just play on songs like "Fack" etc., just let him. Maybe he just needed to regroup a little.
