i just went out and bought a mic with a tascam us-144 interface. it came with a cubase le program and i just downloaded cool edit 2.. however, i cant figure out how to record onto it. nothing appears on the program when i hit the record button and talk into the mic. can anyone help me out please?
actually the problem is that when im actually in the program i cant seem to hear any audio.. the sound works fine in other programs but i cant hear shit in cubase. even when i drag an mp3 or somethin on there and hit play, no sound is heard. can anyone help please

i use acid pro and sound forge.... sounds to me like cubase is using the interface as a sound card and sending all the audio thru the interface, try plugging headphones or something into the interface.
yeah cubase often makes some trouble with audio for example i can't "hear" anything elese while cubase running no wmp nothing thats one reason why i don't use it -.-
