Eminem Returns To The Slaughtahouse W/ Masta Ace

Postby Jumbo » Jun 18th, '08, 20:52

Though he's been absent from the public eye, Eminem has come out of his self-imposed exile to contribute a remix to Brooklyn rapper Masta Ace's classic song, "Slaughtahouse."

Being featured on the recently released Delicious Vinyl's RMXXOLOGY, the updated version of the '93 release allows fans to hear Em showcasing his signature production by downplaying the original heavy bass, translating it into a march-like beat. Ace's various metaphors follow his tempo.

Primarily a West Coast-based album, with features from residents like Tone-Loc and The Pharcyde, Shady's contribution amongst various others gives the album an updated feel.

Masta Ace Talks Eminem Remix Of His Slaughtahouse

Now Masta Ace is commenting on the Slim Shady remix saying "It's an incredible honor that somebody so talented and accomplished in the game would wanna do a remix of my song," he told HipHopDX Wednesday morning. The two, along with J. Black, appeared together on the rare track "Hellbound," made early in Eminem's career. A long time ago Eminem told Masta Ace that his 1993 album Slaughtahouse was a staple for him in the years that were documented in the movie 8 Mile.

I like that Eminem is connecting himself to some talented artists...

Masta Ace, LL Cool J... some of these all time lyrical greats.

I don't know why Ace was acting like it was such an amazing thing, though...

Cuz people like Masta Ace laid down the guidelines for styles like Ems... Em wouldn't exist without him.

I'd love to see a Masta Ace appearance on Em's next album... who knows... anything's possible

Maybe that's what em will do, feature all the greats, that would be sick, but instead he'll feature 50 on 6 tracks :o
