i'm still workin on this beat, but i got it where i like it. now i need a vote between this version-

comments, and suggestions appreciated.

also, once this beat is completed. i would like to add some vocals to it. so if any trshady brethren would like to drop on this beat. pm me your verse. it has to be 30-35 seconds long. i have room for 2 collabs, i'll provide the chorus.

the intro was cool, drums are more technoish, not really feelin the melody, just seems random to me.. suddenly the beat completely changes, idk if that's a good idea, looses flow and gets people confused.. the least you could do is make a transition to it.

there ok, they could use a bit better mixing, but you relaly can't just change the melody just like that without causing confusion for the rappers or listeners.. you gotta create the flow, rappers claim that a beat spits out words and a flow, and all they have to do is just listen.. i kinda believe that.. and you have to create the flow thru the drums/melody and then melody creates an emotion or a tone that the rappers use to translate into words... another words, you can't change make a melody and suddenly stop it and create a completely different type of melody, cuz that's like 2 diff beats submerged into one beat, and unless your a pro i doubt you can make it sound good.

scrape the beat and work on a new one cause this beat is completely trash. and on your next beat try not to add so many notes, listen to pro beats and see what they did with the beat and you try adapt knowledge from what they've done. they add pianos? add pianos. they add string in some part of the verses or chorus? do the same till your ready to make original beats

i disagree, do whats you man, don't follow another song, unless you are trying to learn from it.

alright, spent a little time on it. and i agree with some of the things. the beat was kind of sloppy, especially in the melody. so i revamped it, added a clap. gave it a little more flow. let me know what u think...

i personally liked the other version better because the intro sound can get old after it's looped a couple times. which is why i saved it for the chorus. but if this version sounds better to u, then i'll use it for the vocals....

i think it should build up from the alternative to the usual.

xray, i realize what u was tryin to say, with the listen and learn thing. and i've been doing just that. i'm not gonna scrap the beat, but i'm definitely going to take away alot of the notes, because sometimes too much can ruin a melody. because i realize now that simple beats tend to sound better. take Mobb Deep's Shook Ones. that was a tight song, but it had basically one melody, and not a whole lot added to it. thx for the advice, i'm learnin'....
