Postby j_shady » Dec 29th, '05, 16:10

ok so this article was posted up on Dec. 9, 2005, but for those that dont beleive that The Lox got their publishing rights back..here's the article

The Lox and Diddy have finally settled their music publishing dispute, after a heated exchange of words on New York's Hot 97 radio station last month.

According to Allhiphop.com, Styles P and Sheek Louch stopped by Angie Martinez's radio show on Friday (December 9) to discuss the dispute between themselves and their former boss, as well as reveal that they have spoken and resolved the matter.

"What he did was sweet. He came back [with his offer] and I almost jumped out my seat," Styles P said during the broadcast. "Basically, he gave us all our publishing back. He didn't have to do what he did. In the business world, what he did was like a four-leaf clover. The results was great."

Styles went on to say that both parties had a sit down with lawyers present and came to an agreement after a 45-minute meeting, according to Allhiphop.

The rapper also said that after the first exchange of words on November 16 (see "The Lox, Diddy Have It Out On New York Radio"), he and Diddy spoke over the phone and came to the agreement that the problem was fixable.

"Before the [legal] meeting I spoke to him over the phone. He said, 'I want to meet up, look y'all in the eye and speak as men. The bottom line is we can fix it,'" said Styles. He also stated that the entire situation was nothing more than a "miscommunication."

"What he was saying was true, but what we were saying was true. It's an argument where you could say both sides were right. It was grown man, eye to eye," the rapper continued.

During the November 16th on-air quarrel, Lox members Jadakiss and Styles P had some harsh words for Diddy, accusing him of owning half of the trio's publishing rights for more than 10 years and have finally came to wits end.

The pair furiously attacked the Bad Boy CEO, calling him "a thief" and "a coward."

The very next day (November 17), Diddy appeared on the same radio station to tell him side of the story, bringing paperwork and going into some detail about what percentage of the Lox's publishing he actually owned (see "Diddy Responds To The Lox, Says He 'Ain't Robbing Nobody'").

"I don't own 50% of [The Lox's] publishing and that's what the embarrassing part is. Puff gets 20% of they publishing, so they get 80% of they publishing," Diddy told Angie Martinez. "These accusations attacking me as a man are totally not true."

Diddy has yet to comment on the settlement both parties have reached.
